I'm exhausted!

I haven't been able to post because school has started which basically means I'm busy 24/7 for the next month. Not only me but the other secretary in our office. It's hard work getting a school year started for secretaries. The little things that need to be done that people don't think about...entering kids into the SIS, changing phone numbers, etc. etc. etc. ANYWAY, I hope to have some more time to myself here soon to get back to this!

On Her Way

My youngest left for a week at Leadership Camp. The camp is about 2 hours away and it's the one that ALL the kids love to attend. They're taught the coolest things, one of which is table manners. Now she tells me how to set the table. Heck, I'm lucky if I even get the FOOD on the table let alone how the utensils are lined up!

Isn't This A GREAT Idea!

I found a cool way to make my own laundry soap! I haven't mixed it all up yet, but when I finish using the detergent I normally do, I'm making this!

Homemade Laundry Detergent
(see pictures above)

3 bars Fels Naptha or Zote laundry bar soap (can be found in the laundry aisle)
3C Borax
3C Washing Soda (usually Arm & Hammer)

Finely grate the laundry bar soap and mix with the borax and washing soda. Store in airtight container or bag. For light loads, use 2 tablespoon. For heavy loads, use 3 tablespoons.

Homemade Fabric Softener

1 cup baking soda
6 cups
distilled white vinegar
8 cups
water
10-15 drops orange essential oil (optional) or lemon essential oil (optional) or essential oil of choice (optional)

Directions:
You will need a one gallon container.
First add the baking soda to the plastic container.
Next add 1 cup of water to start with.
Slowly add the vinegar to the bottle as the vinegar and baking soda will start to fizz.
Then add the rest of the water swirling around & cover venting the top a few times.
Last add the essential oil.
Add 1 cup in your final rinse cycle for each load but give the bottle a good shake to stir up the essential oil if using.

Wow, it's been awhile!

I really need to update more. It's been almost 2 years? Huh, whuh? Where did the time go.

We've gotten a dog in the meantime. Her name is Chloe and she's a Lhatese...Lhasa Apso/Maltese mix. We got her when she was 2 months old, and she's almost 6 months old now. She's quite the character and we're finally getting used to having another child in the house. Seriously, it's like having another child, only this one goes outside in all kinds of weather. NOT fun for us. LOL

The girls have changed alot...pictures of them are below as well. The girls first, THEN the puppy!
